Tip #1 For your site navigation use text based navigation or an image based navigation. Make sure that your navigation is proper with anchor text for text based link and relevant alt attributes for image based link. This will help search engines to crawl the links easily.
Tip #2 Use a site map(HTML/XML). A sitemap is very useful for visitors and for search engines.
Tip #3 Maintain a consistency in your linking behavior. If you link to your home page from other pages always follow the uniform link pattern.
Tip #4 Use breadcrumbs navigation for usability and differentiation.
Tip #5 Identify the pages that you mostly link to in your website. You can link to the other important pages in your website from that page.
